A nice visit

Nathan had fun with the stairs in this house.

Bracken did very well going up and did not fully master coming down safely.  He did have a few tumbles.

Bracken loves to wear other peoples shoes.  He does not even care that the shoes are the same!

We had a turkey dinner on Sunday because we will all be gone in different directions for Thanksgiving.  We tried to get Dad in the picture with the timer, but those pictures turned out too light. 

football,fishing, & faces

We watched Kendal play football for the first time at the ISU mini dome in Pocatello.  Courtney and the boys were with us.  Malad played against Butte High School.  Uncle Barry came and we visited with Steve K. and Lori.  Their son Brody was on the Butte team.  We defeated Butte quite easily. 

Nathan and grandpa King went fishing.  We knew the fishing might not be very good because of cold water vs warmer water conditions--the fish can't see very well.  So, we told Nathan he could practice learning how to handle a fishing pole.

Bracken was sick a lot of the time he was here, but this one time he really enjoyed playing with a cup of small ice cubes.  He was really quite a pleasant little guy for not feeling well. 

I'm back

I have not blogged for quite a while.


  I have been traveling.  First I flew to Mineapolis to visit Dan, Chelsea and James.  I did not take any pictures because we were all sick.  James was very sick with congestion, fever and a cough--but was on the mend when I left. 


Next, I  flew to Phoenix to meet up with Dad and drive to Thatcher for Marci's last home game, of the regular season, when they honor the graduating Sophomores.

Aubrey is in Basketball now.  They won the first game, just barely--


Kendal has a football game in the ISU mini dome on Saturday at 1:30, for the continuing State playoffs.

Kendal's Senior Night

 There were 17 Seniors and their parents honored before the football game Friday night.  We played Aberdeen and the score was 49 to 14.  At half time it was 14 to 14 and we were worried, but the team came back and pulled ahead.  Cory Bluth came to the game with his daughter Riely AND Uncle Barry and Aunt Laurie stopped by to visit on their way back to Sugar City.  They stayed for the first part of the game.

I did Aubrey's hair with my new method of "pin curl twists".  I will do just about anything to prevent from using a time consuming hot gadget on my hair.  I have been practicing on my own hair and then I dared to try the method on Aubrey's hair.  It took much bravery because with teenagers there is zero tolerance for error.  This is after playing volleyball or basketball at her friends in the afternoon!

I wanted to take a picture of the apples before I picked them.  The morning dew was an added beauty.  The apple are small--the tree is small, but loaded. 

Homecoming continued

 This is the scarecrow the bank put up for the scarecrow festival.  They added pom poms for homecoming week.  Clever.

 The branches were encouraged to get involved in the Homecoming celebrations.

 The Homecoming parade was different this year in that it was decided to NOT have floats.  I guess the floats were only really done by a select few, were time consuming and fairly costly.  It was proposed to have vehicles for the parade.  New cars, old cars, or what ever.  We did not know any different and the parade was just fine.

 Now I know why so many of the girls had "cantalope" or orange colored dresses for Prom--you just might need to use the dress for another occasion  promoting the school colors.

During the half time presentation it was raining a bit.  It has been rainy here for a few days and it sure has been wonderful.

Kendal caught a pass during the game.  He also played defense at times.  We beat Soda Springs 41 to 14.  I am sorry this video gets blurry when you make it bigger.  It is amazing that I got this particular play at all--it is also funny that I got our new Stake President, Pres. Wray (also Kendal's seminary teacher, how cool is that )  asking where his "Dear" was sitting.   Pres. Wray is a big hunter and deer season opened this weekend.

MHS Homecoming week

Here is Kendal's  official football photo.

This was in the newspaper to kick off Homecoming week. Kendal got 1st runner up for the Homecoming royalty.  Kendal is the Prince.  Mechelle was voted Homecoming queen.  The dance is after the game tonight.  Mechelle is wearing a purple dress from her sisters wedding and Kendal is wearing a purple shirt and gray tie borrowed from Mechelle's brother.  I'll try to get a picture. Kendal might come by the house, it depends on his "willingness mood".
