Catching up

Preparing for the wonderful day.

Waiting and waiting.....he arrived late in the evening.

Lots of hugs all around.
He really is here and we can head for home.  Curtis and Courtney tried so hard to be at the airport, but were about 20 min. from the airport when he came down the escalator.  We found them waiting in our driveway when we drove in.  I felt so bad they did not know where we keep an extra house key.

Friday we all attended the Brigham City Temple.

With such a gathering and ........since it was my birthday soon, we had a party.

Thank you Chelsea for taking this great picture.
On Sunday I did not take very many pictures.

We had a busy few days and this is a great part of Sunday afternoon.

On to Fall.....

Meet Zander, Aubrey's computer baby from her child development class.  She cared for Zander for the weekend.  He went to basketball games, did his thing while Aubrey worked the concession stand, shopped in Pocatello with us, a game night with her friends, a party, and a movie night.

The sounds he makes were very authentic.  He had two diapers and alternate them so the computer registers a change.

Sometimes Aubrey was doing something and feeding Zander was not very convenient, so this plan worked for a few minutes.  The computer knows a real person is not holding the bottle.

I bought some fresh masa in Prescott Valley, so we made a few tamales this year.

I was able to revive the tree one more year.  Some big sections of  the lights don't work so I added some strands, but the nonworking lights look dumb, so time for a new tree next year.
I asked Aubrey if she wanted us to have a more formal, color coordinated, particular theme for a tree and she said no, she likes the one we always create.

Homecoming 2013

The asking - scoot was covered with balloons, one night after an away game for VB.
Aubrey answered Kalob by decorating some of the bus,  for an away  track meet.

Assisting in driving the Dragonette truck playing their music.

Let's roast the Firth Cougars.  1st place
2nd palce
Tame the Cougars ,  3rd place
The female royalty.
The football team.

Statue donated to the school.
Getting ready for her first date.

Ready to go to the dance.

The group. It was the first real date for some in the group.

Of course, it isn't enough to go on a date in one evening.  Saturday was, starting at  2 pm,  Driving to Pocatello for buying crazy outfits, playing Lazer tag in teams, then Pizza Pie Cafe, then a movie....the girls did not want any ice cream, they felt the guys had spent enough money!!!!

our busy corner in Malad

If the usual Hess Pumice trucks going by, the many animal trailors ,because of County Fair week, and the "busy" of finishing the fire station across the street isn't enough......now we have the "set up" for the Utah-Idaho fire  AND the paving of Highway 38 off to the west.

This is what it looks like around here these days.

There are trucks and vehicles from Colorado, California, Montana, Utah, Idaho and Arizona.

I did not get a good picture of the mobile shower.  Behind the shower is where they eat.  There is an area for all the technology and satellite communication, a medical area, and much that I have no idea what purpose it serves.

I did not get pictures of the many yellow dump trucks that go by all day long, sometimes 3 at a time, very noisy & loud---with asphalt for the road project to the west.

A NICE QUIET WINTER DAY SOUNDS NICE RIGHT NOW.

If you look hard enough you can see Jenny Oaks Baker giving a 2 hour session of violin instruction.  We did not understand the whole occasion very well, but we will do better next time.  Aubrey would have gotten more out the experience if we had the music ahead of time and had taken a piece for Jenny to hear Aubrey play and give advice. (they called this portion a master class, but we had never experienced one before)
Jenny is very cute, very very awesome on the violin and very very very serious about everything involved with playing the violin and performing in public.

more summer fun

Aubrey has taught swim lessons most of the summer.  The final 2 week session she taught 3 classes in the morning to level 1. This is the stage where some of the little ones are afraid of the water and usually don't like getting their ears wet.

We had another visit from the Kleinman's.  Fun for us!  I did not get many pictures.  I took the camera to Lava Hot Springs and got the camera wet.  It never recovered and we had to get a new camera.  That same week I  put my cell phone through a wash, rinse and the dryer.  The phone did not recover either.

The fire station across the street was getting black top one morning.

Lava Hot Springs. The weather looked threatening at times but we stayed as long as we wanted.

Nathan likes that he can swim and eat whenever he desires.

Aubrey was able to shoot some Bball with the water to support her healing knee.

These last two are from earlier in the summer but I like them.
