Aubrey's 17th birthday

7:10 in the morning and we are starting Aubrey's birthday celebration. It is that time of year--the end of the school  year --Graduation day and nothing is normal at school.  I had to work, so having lunch together wouldn't work,  evening is totally sketchy, so breakfast it is.

 Crepes are on their way.....

...while Aubrey opens her presents.

After having pizza at Pizza Stop for lunch, Aubrey and her friends came by the house for cake and ice cream.  Carrot cake was her choice this year.

Even Bailey joined the group. (It helped her boyfriend was out for Senior Day)  It really meant a lot to Aubrey to have the girls forget some differences and join together again. Almost like the good ol' days of middle school.

Easter weekend

Saturday,  an Easter egg hunt was replaced with club volleyball from 8 am until 4:30 pm  /  the team won the silver bracket at a tournament in Idaho Falls

Aubrey is not difficult as far as Easter candy.  Mini Cadbury eggs are all she wants.

The yard is looking very springy.  These are flowers I can see from the kitchen window.  Little tulips and even smaller daffodils.

Gotta love those "little purple pansies"

Kendal came for a short visit.  Everyone fell asleep so.......
........I had to take a selfie.

Spring Break - Sioux Falls

I did not take a lot of pictures, but here are a few  I managed to capture.

Marci drove over 8 hours to spend time with us.  We had Saturday together and filled it with some VB "peppering" - I think the temp outside was 22 degrees - watching the movie Divergent, eating some delicious food at Spezias, music with the guitar and singing harmony AND the movie Frozen.

We went  to an amazing Childrens Museum and hour north in Brookings.  I in no way captured even a small percentage of the great things for kids to do.  I did not get the barn, garden, grocery store, school, music, exercise area, water fun, explore area, newspaper, mail room, TV station, sod house, Indian tepee, island hut.  There is nothing that kids can not touch, climb on, carry around and play with to their hearts content. Sam pulled around a little red wagon most of the time.  I did not get a picture - so sad.

The hen house was so cool.  The huge mamma pig and baby piglets were also hands on and quite amazing.

This happened most mornings.  The boys wanting Aubrey to wake up when they did ---and be perky.
