Aubrey starts High School

Aubrey's first day of high school.  Look at those jeans, so long she had to cuff them up when wearing tennis shoes!!! We struggle to find jeans long enough.

Kendal wanted to take a picture with Aubrey.  He got back from Sydney, Montana late on Sunday night--he had a "rough'in it week",   spent putting siding on a house.  (rough'in it meaning, not knowing where you were going to lay out your sleeping bag, showering at a Baptist church, and eating, basically out of a gas station)

The lighting is bad in this picture, but I wanted to have a picture of Aubrey with the pumpkin plants she cared for all summer.

Kendal's High School Graduation

The Graduation ceremonies were moved inside to the gym because of possible rainy weather.  Clouds were looming all day long but it actually never rained.  It got very stuffy and warm in the gym.  But if we had been outside we would have been chilled by the evenings generous breeze.  It did feel very welcoming to go outside after the graduation to cool off and breathe fresh air.

Cap tossing and changing of the tassel.

Marching OUT!!!

Filing in by height to the music of Pomp and Circumstance played by the  HS Band.

There are 69 graduates from MHS.
Getting his diploma.

Poor Aubrey has pink eye, so she fit in with all the other red eyed folks.

Mothers Day flowers

I was very surprised to get flowers in Prescott Valley on Mothers Day.  I was in major wedding mode and did not even think about Mothers Day.  Dan and Chelsea had these flowers delivered for me when I arrived at Courtney's house.

The vase, or container is a deep purple, which I kept for future flowers from the yard here.  THANKS KINGSTONS !!!!

Later in the afternoon a long box came for me in the mail.  It was from San Diego and inside were these roses all packaged  for mailing.  The vase, rose buds in wet sponge stuff, and a box of chocolates were all in the box.  They were from Corey.  So sweet, and what a surprise.  I love fresh flowers.

tulips blooming

The tulips bloomed while I was in Arizona for Marci and Caleb's wedding.  Most were left for me to see.

Track and Field

I need to add "Field " now because Aubrey does a field event called the triple jump.  I have heard of the long jump, but not the triple jump.  This is the first time Aubrey did this event at a track meet.  Aubrey, her friend Jordan and one other girl are the only three in this event.

Waiting in the third leg of the relay.  They each ran one lap around the track.

Getting the hand off.

catching up...

Action of  a hand off --Aubrey is enjoying track and the weather was much better yesterday.  Some of the weather for track has been cold, windy and even snow has appeared at times.

April's about gone

Yes, on the mint you read Red Iguana.  We hope  to keep our tradition of going to The Red Iguana restaurant for our anniversary.  This year we went to the new restaurant that is a few blocks from the original restaurant.  I like the decor better.  The original one has a lot of history and the new one is very open and a more modern decor.  Mole is a specialty at the Red Iguana and this time we got the sample plate of at least 8 or 9 different flavors of mole.  Dad got beef fajitas and dipped his meat in the mole.  I got a mango mole enchilada, a very fun and adventurous choice, I very much enjoyed.  We shared a fried ice cream for dessert.  They also make the best lemonade I have ever tasted.

The tulips are getting close to blooming.  I planted 18 bulbs and 17 came up.  They should be a variety of colors.

The official picture taken at the dance.  The couples actually do stay at the dance the entire time.
